Southeastern Engineering, Inc. (SEI) is Selected for On-Call Services for The City of Marietta
After a rigorous qualification based selection process, the City of Marietta selected Southeastern Engineering Inc (SEI) as one of their on-call engineering & surveying services providers. SEI will provide a variety of traffic, transportation, hydrology, utility and surveying services to the city as required.
To date, SEI is underway on two task orders. The first project is for approximately one mile of pedestrian improvements along South Marietta Parkway (SR 120 loop). The improvements include a signalized pedestrian crossing (HAWK) of SR 120 at the Cobb County Transit Center and pedestrian improvements along the north side between Fairground Street SE and the entrance to Southern Polytechnic State University. The primary purpose of the project is to increase pedestrian safety along the corridor.
The second task order involves significant roadway improvements along Alexander Street between Roswell Street (SR 120) and Washington Avenue. Although not finalized, the planned improvements expect to expand the road’s current section from less than 10′ lanes to 11’+ lanes. The City of Marietta is looking to improve existing drainage conditions, street lighting and existing pedestrian facilities by connecting the pedestrian facility on Roswell Street to the pedestrian facility on Washington Avenue. In order to expedite the project, SEI is supporting the City of Marietta with the public involvement process by providing Conceptual plans to the community.
