Southeastern Engineering, Inc. (SEI) Is Awarded On-Call Engineering Survey Services for the City Of Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

The City of Atlanta awarded SEI the On-Call Engineering Survey Services at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (H-JAIA). The 3 year on-call contract includes; providing asbuilt and topographic mapping, GIS data collection, 3D laser scanning, boundary line determination, subsurface utility location, airport survey controls and runway approach clearance surveys as requested for the world’s busiest airport.

Having completed numerous projects in and around all areas of the airport including projects within the Aircraft Movement Area (AMA), SEI crews and personnel are fully badged and familiar with H-JAIA airport policies and procedures. “We’re accustomed to overcoming aggressive production schedules while efficiently navigating H-JAIA’s security procedures. Our team is adept at coordinating runway and taxiway closures with Airside Operations while maintaining the highest level of accuracy during the third shift. Surveying in the dark provides its own challenges but we have developed procedures and protocols utilizing state of the art equipment to increase accuracy and productivity” states Chad Epple, SEi’s Vice President and Civil Engineer.

Recently, SEI completed the first large-scale project with the COA/DOA which was a detailed asbuilt/topographic survey of a portion of the Old Ford Plant Site adjacent to the airport.  Our survey included approximately 50 acres detailed location work and was provided to the DOA for a subsequent design project.
