Oakmont Industrial Group Distribution Center

SEI was selected by Oakmont Industrial Group to perform engineering services for a 620,000 square foot, new “tilt-up” distribution center on Hartman Road in Cobb County, Georgia. Kicking off the project was a site investigation report, followed by a 2-foot contour interval topographic survey to assess conditions of the location’s creeks, streams, ditches, lakes, all above-ground utilities, and all marked underground utilities, among other features. As a part of the rezoning process, the project was determined to be a “development of regional impact” (DRI) and subject to Atlanta’s Regional Commission (ARC) purview. SEI will perform a traffic impact analysis on the site by gathering AM and PM, peak-hour turning movement counts for up to 13 intersection in vicinity of the site, as well as five 24-hour volume and classification counts. Design Development document preparation is expected to begin mid April. Duration of the project is anticipated to last until late summer 2014.
