As construction progressed, SEI performed as-built surveys on all newly constructed manholes along with location and depth of the duct bank being installed...

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport: APRAM

SEI performed asbuilt and topographic surveys of existing conditions along Taxiway Dixie/Golf in order to provide accurate excavation plans prior to construction. Construction layout along the taxiway included slope staking and layout of the proposed glycol and electrical lines...

Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport: ALSF-2 Runway 27L

The staking of lighting foundations was especially critical due to horizontal and vertical tolerances. Establishment and verification of existing site control was required to maintain continuity with other airport projects. In this case, published plan coordinates did not match existing site conditions requiring further information and adjustment...

Turner Construction Company: Cobb County Superior Courthouse

Turner Construction engaged SEI to perform a 3D laser scan of the new Cobb County Superior Court building. The purpose of the scan in this instance was to evaluate the installation of the masonry ledges around the exterior of the building and to evaluate a perceived “racking” of the clock tower portion of the structure. As-built drawings were produced with measurements and reference to vertical and horizontal on each individual exposure of the clock tower and remainder of the structure...

City of Norcross: Betty Mauldin Park

Betty Mauldin Park is a monument to former City employee, Mrs. Betty Mauldin. It is also the home of the State Champion, American Elm tree, one of very few such trees to survive the Dutch Elm disease in the Atlanta area. City of Norcross: Heritage Park

Heritage Park is a small pocket park located between the City Hall and new Community Center on the hill across the street. The park is on an axis with City Hall and provides a shaded seating area for employees of the City to eat lunch. It is also planned to be a spring and summer wedding venue. Cobb County DOT: Cooper Lake Road at King Springs Road

SEI designed a roundabout at this intersection for CCDOT. An intersection improvement was warranted due insufficient stopping sight distance approaching from the North along King Springs Road and an insufficient sight distance looking right approaching the form the South along King Springs Road. Additionally, the horizontal alignment of Cooper Lake Road has a non AASHTO standard curve for the current speed design. The roundabout has been placed on the centerline of Cooper Lake Road...

City of Sandy Springs: Morgan Falls Road

The redesign of Morgan Falls Road was complicated by several environmental issues therefore environmental screening, coordination and documentation began early with the appropriate regulatory agencies. Although this is a locally funded project, SEI completed coordination procedures typically used when performing National Environmental Policy Act (“NEPA”) and Georgia Environmental Policy Act (“GEPA”) regulatory coordination. The entire segment of Morgan Falls Road...

City of Sandy Springs: Sidewalk Project – Glenridge Drive, Mt. Vernon Highway to Abernathy Road

SEI performed 3D terrestrial laser scanning along Glenridge Drive in Sandy Springs, GA in support of a sidewalk and streetscape project. All utility services including sewer and water were further located by conventional survey methods to include structure depths. Scan data was used to create highly detailed roadway cross-sections and accurate spot elevations for design purposes. Through a combination of conventional survey data and the 3D scans, the existing and proposed underground utilities are being modeled 3 dimensionally...

City of Sandy Springs: Sidewalk Project – Glenridge Drive, Hammond Drive to Johnson Ferry Road

This project consists of adding or replacing sections of non ADA compliant sidewalks, providing ADA accessibility at intersections and driveways, relocating utilities, limited adding/replacing of curb and gutter, and improving existing drainage facilities along three separate roadway segments throughout the City. Designs are complicated along these segments of roadway due to the narrow right of way,...

Union City: SR 138 Project

SEI utilized survey grade GPS units to establish survey control throughout each route for Vertical (MSL) and horizontal control. These control points were confirmed for accuracy by running a level loop on each route. A robotic total station and total station were utilized to gather the data required for the Base Map. These include; topography, creeks, streams or ditches, storm water and sanitary sewer pipes and associated structures, curb, gutter, pavement, striping, traffic control devices, all above ground visible utilities, property corners, right of way markers and any unusual features...
